The implementation of all 150 European Regional Development fund (ERDF) co-financed projects for 2004 – 2006 period is completed. All payees have received total financial refunding – 24,97 million lats (35,32 million Euro, 106,43 percent) from the ERDF activities financing supervised by the ministry of the Environment.

Eight projects were implemented within the frameworks of activity "Creation of partite waste collection stadions” by creating the waste stations and compost sites in the largest cities (Riga, Jelgava, Rezekne) and small rural districts (Malta, Dagda, Aloja). Total refunding is 1, 25 million lats or 94,78 percent from ERDF financing within this activity.

Within the frameworks if the activity "Recovery of legislation requirements inadequate dump sites” in Ziemelvidzeme and Riga 47 dump sites (80 ha) were recovered. Total refunding is 3,06 million lats or 96,85 percent from ERDF financing within this activity.

Within the framework of the activity „Development of Water management infrastructure with population under 2000” 89 projects have been implemented by tidying away water management infrastructure in 128 settlements. The most of the projects were introduced in Vidzeme, Latgale and Zemgale region. Total refunding is 16,82 million lats or 101,31 percent from ERDF financing within this activity.

Within the activity „Development of ecotourism infrastructure in potential Natura 2000 territories” seven projects in Kemeri and Gauja National parks, Teici and Krustkalni nature reserves and nature parks „Embutes pauguraine” and „Ventas ieleja” were implemented. Total refunding is 3,83 million lats or 161,43 percent from ERDF financing within this activity.
