Lelystad/Netherlands - Van Peperzeel B.V. from Lelystad/Netherlands has just delivered a battery sorting installation to KMK Metals Recycling in Ireland. The machine is a model out of the range PBS-Compact. The contract was to supply and install a sorting facility and provide training for the people on location in Ireland.

The contact for cooperation between the two companies started shortly after the 13th International Congress for Battery Recycling in Düsseldorf, Germany, at the end of 2008, where Johan van Peperzeel had given a presentation on Battery sorting and battery separation from WEEE. "After a visit to the Dutch sorting centre for waste consumer batteries it all went then very quickly", says Managing Director Johan van Peperzeel. It was soon clear that we were both on the same track. The negotiations went well and the deliverytime for building the machine was more than acceptable.

At the beginning of the year the machine was shipped to Ireland, installed and soon thereafter the training of the local people started. The training was given by Van Peperzeel staff, with many years of batteries sorting experience in the Netherlands.

The technology exchange and training is working to the satisfaction of both parties and the first deliveries of sorted batteries to European recycling companies have been made. A second additional detailed training session has been given to the workers in Ireland. "I expect in the future that the cooperation between the two companies will increase and we are designing a second larger installation for KMK Metals' new facility in England", says a satisfied Johan van Peperzeel.
