The plastic packaging industry in the Middle East is fast evolving with all stakeholders in the value chain evaluating the strategies needed to transform the region into an exciting export market, amidst expectations of additional capacities for raw material production and strong government support.

Dubai - According to IQPC Middle East, the 2nd Annual Plastic Packaging Middle East Summit (8 to 10 March 2010, Beach Rotana Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates) will provide a timely platform for industry stakeholders to discuss these emerging opportunities and the roadmap towards developing the region into a lucrative export market.

One of the industry leaders who has confirmed his speaking role is Thibaut Eissautier, Chief Procurement Officer at McBride Group - one of Europe's leaders in Private Label products and supplier of Household and Personal Care products, with a global purchasing strategy of an estimated spend of AED 3,300m per annum. Other international experts speaking at the event include senior representatives from General Mills, Alcan Packaging, Dupont, PCI PET Packaging Resin & Recycling, Colines and Reifenhauser Kiefel Extrusion. Regional representatives speaking include the managing directors and general managers from Obeikan Flexible Packaging Saudi Arabia; NATPACK Egypt; Uflex India and Jordan Shareef Plastic Factory.

Plastic Packaging Middle East 2010 will bring together senior executives from converters, petrochemical companies, brand manufacturers and government for three days of high-level presentations and industry panels, alongside a dedicated exhibition consisting of 10 key suppliers.
