London - Entries are now being invited from local authorities, companies, the community sector and individuals for the first major Awards for Excellence in Recycling and Waste Management 2010. The Awards, now in their sixth year, aim to showcase innovation, dedication and success in recycling and sustainable waste management. The awards are renowned for showcasing innovation, dedication and success in recycling and waste management.

Categories open for entry are:

* Waste Management Initiative in the Commercial and Public Sector
* Collection crew of the year
* Commercial recycling champion
* High Street Recycling Champion
* Innovation in design of a waste management facility
* Civic Amenity site of the year
* The Best Community Recycling Initiative
* The Best Local Authority Recycling Initiative
* Local authority recycling champion

Entries should be mainly based on the period April 2008 to March 2009. However, relevant material can be submitted for work prior to April 2008 and for the months after April 2009 to show how successes developed are continuing. The deadline for entries 2010 is 9th March 2010.

The 7th annual Awards for Excellence will take place on the 5th May 2010 at the Luxurious Landmark Hotel in London, close to Regents Park.
