Oslo - Norwegian emissions of some of the most hazardous substances were reduced by over 50 percent in 2007 in relation to 1995. A new report presents data concerning prioritised substances in Norway that are encompassed by national goals for both reductions in emissions as well as complete cessations of emissions in 2005, 2010 and 2020 respectively. The study is published by the Climate and Pollution Agency Norway.

The summary says that the list of prioritised hazardous substances now encompasses some 30 substances and/or groups of substances. The total emissions of the hazardous substances on the priority list have been reduced from 1995 up to the present. For most of the substances, the national emissions in 2007 were reduced by over 50 percent in relation to 1995, and by substantially more for many of these hazardous substances.
