Once the implementation is completed, Metso Lindemann’s customers will be mainly supplied from the central Distribution Center in Tongeren. In this multi-client facility SKF will manage inbound operations from the Metso’s factory in Düsseldorf, Germany. The agreement also covers external suppliers, quality inspection together with other value added services, storage of nearly 2,000 different spare parts, outbound operations for spare and wear parts to destinations worldwide and customer service activities. The entire operation is supported by a fully integrated IT solution.
“For us the SKF in Tongeren is an ideal complement to our logistics system. In future our customers will be provided with spare- and wear parts from there. The decision brings out many benefits to us and to our customers. First of all we will be able to react directly upon the needs of our customers and to changes of market situation. Furthermore, SKF offers us the opportunity to meet our customers’ demand more quickly, i.e. within 24 to 48 hours of spare- and wear parts to treat.” says Bernhard Kock, Vice President Services at Metso Lindemann GmbH, Duesseldorf.
Metso Lindemann provides a wide range of recycling solutions for the fragmentation, compaction and separation of every type of scrap metal. Finished products include shredders, shears and balers used in the metal recycling industry, the automotive industry and the non-ferrous metal industry.
